About Me

My name is Sara Best. I am a Junior at the University of Utah majoring in Journalism and minoring in Documentary Studies. As a modern-day journalist it is vital to be well versed in all forms of media, which led me to create this blog. My dream job is to write documentaries, no matter what form they might be in. I am infatuated with the idea of using my passion to flesh out the passions of another person. If done correctly, documentaries can inspire others to glorify their own passions. I spent so much time trying to avoid a career in writing, assuming it was a dead-end path, but I can't quite help myself anymore. I have several comprehensive sketchbooks full of observations, drawings, social stigmas, thoughts, ideas, and inventions that I have been composing for over 7 years. It is my passion. When I’m not busy with school or work, I’m at concerts, playing outdoors, spending time with my family, getting stoked on religion, meeting people, eating dairy and meat despite my stomach’s intolerance to both, knitting, drawing, writing, being sarcastic, and wishing I could paint. I currently work as a Campus Life Mentor on the University of Utah's Campus and proofreading grants for an office on campus (exciting stuff, I know).
